BIOGRAPHY

ANDRÉ LAMOUNIER van LAMMERENis a pianist, singer, composer, arranger and music producer, with extensive experience in the Brazilian and European art scene. As a composer, he is the author of 650 works including pieces for piano, ballet, solo instruments, musicals and soundtracks.

 

He completed an artistic residency in Composition at the Conservatoire a Rayonnement Regional de Rueil-Malmaison, Paris – France under the supervision of Professor Dr Jacques Taddei in 1987. He completed his studies in Orchestration, Instrumentation and Counterpoint, with Professor and Conductor Cosme Galindo, from the National Music School at the University of Rio de Janeiro, in 1985. At the Brazilian Conservatory of Music of Rio de Janeiro, he completed in 1983, the course in Piano, Music Theory, Harmony, Rhythm and Sound under the supervision of Professor José Arnaldo Fernandes da Costa Bello and Maestrina Cacilda Borges Barbosa.

 

In his professional career, he worked as a music producer and composer of soundtracks for Globo TV affiliates (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), as well as in the development of musical projects for musical dissemination, highlighting the radio programs “As twenty thousand musical notes ” and “A Aldeia Musical”, both created for Radio MEC – Radio Ministry of Education and Culture of Rio de Janeiro (1997) and the documentary “Irene” (by Ítalo Calvino), developed in partnership with Canal Futura (Roberto Marinho Foundation, 2010) with the participation of students from the Santa Marta Media Center (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

 

Moved to Europe and since then he has performed with his compositions: Coliseu do Porto (Portugal, 2014); School of Dance in Lisbon (Portugal, 2018); Ilídio Pinho Auditorium – Catholic University of Portugal (Portugal, 2018); Ecole superieure du professort et de l'education de Paris - ESPE (France, 2018); Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UNIRIO (Brazil, 2019).

 

In 2019 he was a guest speaker at the II International Seminar on Artistic Education of the Paula Frassinetti School of Education (Porto, Portugal) with the theme: The Musical Village: Music and Literature for children. In 2020, he published in partnership with Slavisa Lamounier the book “The Musical Village: an autistic boy in search of a link with the world” (Just Fiction! Edition). The work features fourteen new songs, composed especially for the fictional narrative presented in the first part of the book.

 

André Lamounier van Lammerenhas been developing custom works for films, telenovelas and advertising, as well as for the interpretation of other artists who request their works for performances at concerts and festivals.

more than 35 years of experience as a teacher in Colleges, Universities and Schools/Conservatories of Music.

In Canto, he studied Vocal Harmony at Pró-Arte and at the Conservatory of Music of Rio de Janeiro in the class of Profª  Helena Fiúza (Brazil), and Bel Canto at the Municipal Theater of São João Del Rey - Minas Gerais, in the class of Maestro Osman Giuseppe Gioia (Italy). In Rio de Janeiro, he continued to develop his singing skills, in the Choir of the IBEU (Instituto Brasil-Estados Estados), with the conductor Maria Natividade Guedes, where he developed the role of choir singer as a tenor and soloist. He perfected his technique as a Singer and Teacher with the lyrical singer and Professor Sylvia Carrera.

In piano, he studied with Pianist/Concertist Miguel Angel Schebba (Argentina). He studied Harmony, Rhythm and Sound in the class of Maestrina Cacilda Borges Barbosa (Brazil), at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music in the City of Rio de Janeiro.

In Music History, he studied with Professor/Doctor Luiz Paulo Sampaio (Brazil) at the University of Rio de Janeiro - Uni-Rio: Renaissance, Baroque, classical music, the heyday of opera, romantic music, contemporary, electronic music until the days of today.

He studied Orchestration, Composition and Choir Conducting with Hans-Joachim Koellreuter (Germany).

In composition, he had artistic residency meetings at the Conservatoire Régional de Rueil-Malmaison – Paris, under the guidance of Prof. Jacques Taddei (France).

As a composer, his works range from Erudite to Popular and, at times, involve both styles, becoming a hybrid: Concertos; Tracks for films, for advertising; musicals; Compositions for various instruments – Sax, Flute, Oboe, Piano, among others; songs for popular and erudite singing, for large orchestras, string quartets, among others.

As a Music Producer and Arranger, he combines technological modernity with tradition and brings, in his baggage as a composer, pieces for piano of high virtuosity - “Brasilakas”, a name created by him in honor of his country, Brazil; musicals; ballet; Oratory; Symphonic Pieces; Popular and Operatic Singing, as well as soundtracks for documentaries, such as the award-winning “Urban Ruins” and television programs, including “Terra Prometida”, for TV Globo.
